We are partnering with a leading global investment bank to hire a Azure Cloud Engineer into a small, highly skilled platform engineering team sitting within their Corporate Technology division.
This team is responsible for building and operating the bank’s enterprise cloud capability, supporting a multi-cloud environment spanning Azure as the core platform, alongside Oracle Cloud and emerging AWS adoption.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, automating, and supporting production-grade cloud services that underpin critical banking and trading systems globally.
The Opportunity
You will be joining a tight-knit cloud engineering function responsible for delivering and evolving the bank’s public cloud foundation.
This is a build-and-run engineering role where you will be expected to contribute directly to platform delivery, not just support it.
Key focus areas include:
- Building and operating Azure-based cloud services used across the enterprise
- Delivering infrastructure as code and automated deployment patterns
- Supporting live cloud environments alongside project-based engineering work
- Enhancing platform reliability, security, and cost efficiency
- Collaborating closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams
- Contributing to cloud architecture standards and reusable engineering patterns
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and delivering cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure
- Supporting production environments and resolving operational issues when needed
- Developing automation to improve deployment, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Implementing secure cloud configurations aligned to enterprise standards
- Working on cloud platform improvements including scalability and governance
- Producing technical documentation, solution designs, and engineering standards
- Supporting integration of additional cloud platforms (Oracle / AWS) into the wider ecosystem
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a strong hands-on Azure engineer who is comfortable working in complex, regulated environments and contributing to both build and run activities.
Core experience:
- Strong hands-on Azure engineering background in production environments
- Experience building infrastructure using Bicep / ARM templates
- Strong PowerShell skills (Python beneficial)
- Solid Git-based development and version control experience
- Experience with Azure core services (VMs, App Service, Functions, Storage, networking, AKS)
- Understanding of identity and access management principles in cloud environments
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Oracle Cloud or AWS environments
- Terraform or CloudFormation experience
- CI/CD tooling and automation experience
- REST API integration experience
- Azure certifications (AZ-104 or above)
