PowerShell SME / Developer

Location: London (3 days onsite)

Compensation: £100,000 – £110,000 + Bonus

The Role

We’re supporting a global investment bank in hiring a PowerShell Subject Matter Expert to join their Platform Engineering / SRE team. This role is focused on building advanced automation and tooling, not support ideal for someone who treats PowerShell as a development language, not just scripting.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build advanced PowerShell solutions (modules, frameworks, automation tooling)
• Eliminate manual operational work through engineering-led automation
• Deliver Infrastructure as Code and self-service capabilities
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and observability
• Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
• Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams on CI/CD and platform improvements

What We’re Looking For

• Deep expertise in PowerShell (advanced functions, modules, reusable tooling)
• Strong background in Windows infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, etc.)
• Experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering environments
• Proven track record of automation at scale
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and modern engineering practices

Nice to have:

• Experience with Desired State Configuration (DSC)
• Exposure to cloud (Azure/AWS) and container platforms
