Location: North of England (required) - with travel to Hull and Newcastle 1-2 days per week
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Shift Pattern: 24/7/365
Salary: £40,000-£43,000 DOE
Our client is seeking two experienced 3rd Line Technical Support Engineers (internally titled Technical Operations Engineer) to join their 24/7 technical operations function. Working within a shift pattern, you will play a crucial role in maintaining stable, secure, and resilient infrastructure, networking, and security operations.
This is a remote position; however, and able to travel to sites in Hull and Newcastle 1-2 days per week as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert 3rd Line support across infrastructure, networking, and security
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and technical contacts
- Monitor and optimise operational processes to ensure security, stability, and efficiency
- Support environments across routing, switching, WAN/LAN, and Firewall technologies
- Work with Fortinet SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi, and related technologies
- Support and maintain security controls including SIEM, DLP, vulnerability management, CTI, and endpoint protection
- Contribute to ongoing automation initiatives and continuous service improvement
- Operate as part of a 24/7 support model following the shift schedule
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure, Networking, and Security best practices
- Hands-on experience with routing/switching, WAN/LAN, and physical + virtual Firewalls
- Proficiency with Fortinet SD-WAN and Firewall switch technologies
- Working experience with Cisco ISE and Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi

4-week rotation, 12-hour shifts (7am 7pm/7pm 7am):
- 4 Nights - 3 Days Off
- 3 Days - 1 Day Off - 3 Nights
- 3 Days Off - 4 Days
- 7 Days Off
This provides a balanced working rhythm with extended rest periods.
You should bring a proactive mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform effectively in high-availability environments
