Location: Remote (UK)
Clearance: Must hold active SC Clearance or be fully eligible to obtain it
We are seeking a Software Development Specialists to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal software solutions, including the RTAP ERP platform. The role involves hands-on software development, deployment, testing, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams within Fixed Data Services (FDS). You will also contribute to implementing new technologies and processes and may occasionally lead small technical workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance ERP systems and internal tools (primarily LAMP-based).
- Support software deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting using CLI and Scripting.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and operational materials.
- Conduct quality assurance checks, ensuring solutions meet design and performance standards.
- Collaborate with technical teams on new product, technology, and system implementations.
- Provide advanced technical support for complex solutions and operational issues.
- Contribute to small-team leadership, knowledge sharing, and task coordination when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 3+ years' experience in software development.
- Strong LAMP stack experience (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
- Scripting expertise: Python, Perl, expect.
- Confident working via CLI for deployment and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and technical support capabilities.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with the JavaScript MERN stack.
- Exposure to enterprise-level systems, networks, or large-scale infrastructure.
- Certifications such as AWS Developer or Azure Developer Associate.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Must hold SC Clearance or be eligible to undergo SC vetting.
