Telco Network Engineer - Hybrid working - £400 per day outside IR35

Network Engineer -

Network Engineer role supporting design, modelling, capacity planning, and migration across a predominantly Nokia-based network, with some Cisco infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document solutions, including replacement of Cisco ASR1004 with NCS540
• Produce design documents and Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
• Support service migrations, including fixed voice
• Perform network modelling, failure analysis, and capacity planning
• Use Cramer for modelling devices, links, and services
• Conduct lab work (config clean-up, device setup, physical connectivity at Newbury)
• Support fixed voice and other network design projects
• Carry out feasibility checks (eg, port availability)
• Use Scripting to extract and analyse network data (where applicable)

Essential Skills

• Strong network engineering experience (service provider environment preferred)
• Nokia SROS and NSP knowledge
• Experience with Cisco platforms (ASR1000/NCS540 desirable)
• Network design, modelling, and migration experience
• Cramer modelling experience
• Understanding of fixed voice networks

Desirable

• Scripting (eg, Python)
• Spirent Velocity experience
• Lab/testing experience in multi-vendor environments
