Azure Data Platform Lead

Azure Data Platform Lead / Enterprise Data Architect West London | Hybrid (2 days onsite) | Environmental research organisation

I'm recruiting on behalf of a highly respected environmental research organisation for an Azure Data Platform Lead to take ownership of its enterprise data platform and strategy.

This is a senior role with real purpose, leading how data is engineered, governed and used across science, conservation and corporate functions. You'll provide strategic direction while remaining close enough to the technology to ensure high-quality delivery.

Key requirements

  • Proven experience designing and building enterprise-scale data platforms

  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Azure data services including Data Factory, Synapse/SQL, Data Lake/Lakehouse/Fabric and Power BI

  • Strong background delivering governed ETL/ELT pipelines using CI/CD and DevOps practices

  • Experience setting data architecture, standards and operating models

  • Ability to manage suppliers, cloud spend and complex stakeholder environments

  • Confident communicator able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Why this role stands out

  • Work for a mission-led, not-for-profit organisation tackling global environmental challenges

  • High autonomy to shape data strategy, roadmap and best practice

  • Opportunity to integrate scientific and operational data at scale

  • Senior leadership role with influence across the organisation

  • Hybrid working with a collaborative West London campus environment

  • 30 days holiday rising to 33, fantastic pension scheme

If you are excited about making a huge difference to an organisation and the value yielded from Data, then please get in touch ASAP because there are few roles that can offer this level of ownership and responsibility whilst working in a supportive and caring environment.
