Platform Engineer
Platform Engineer – Low-Latency Trading (Greenfield Build) - 3x Days in Office
A global financial organisation is building a brand-new, greenfield trading platform and needs a Platform Engineer who can design and run infrastructure built for speed. This is hands-on engineering across on-prem and cloud, supporting low-latency workloads that rely on tight optimisation and zero-noise environments.
You’ll work closely with software and trading teams, shaping platform architecture, automating everything possible, and pushing performance to the limit.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and operating infrastructure for a greenfield low-latency trading system
- Working across on-prem and cloud with Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred)
- Improving performance across the stack (kernel tuning, kernel bypass, core pinning, network optimisation)
- Developing automation to remove manual tasks and standardise environments
- Managing Linux systems in high-performance environments
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery practices
- Owning monitoring/observability with Grafana, Prometheus, and similar tools
What you need
- Strong hands-on experience building platforms for low-latency or real-time trading systems
- Kubernetes expertise (OpenShift is a bonus)
- Deep Linux skills
- Automation experience
- Strong IaC experience (Ansible, Terraform)
- Knowledge of kernel-level optimisation for latency
- CI/CD experience
- Solid understanding of monitoring stacks (Grafana, Prometheus)
If you want to be part of a fresh build and engineer infrastructure that underpins a modern, high-performance trading platform, this is one to consider.
