This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise, shape future talent and help students develop the skills needed to progress into Higher Education and careers within the digital and games industries.About the RoleAs a Lecturer in Games Design & Development, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across a range of games and digital subjects, with a particular focus on:Games Design and DevelopmentGames Art3D ModellingEnvironment ArtContemporary game development technologiesYou will bring learning to life through industry-standard software, current development practices and project-based delivery, helping students build professional portfolios and develop the technical skills, creativity and confidence needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving sector.Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding learning experiences, supporting student achievement and contributing to the continued development of an ambitious and forward-thinking curriculum.What You'll Be DoingDeliver inspiring and inclusive teaching, learning and assessmentTeach practical games design, games art and computing using current industry tools and workflowsSupport students in developing portfolios and project work for university and employment progressionEmbed professional behaviours, employability skills and industry best practice throughout the curriculumMonitor student progress and implement effective interventions to support achievementContribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiativesBuild links with employers, universities and industry partners to create meaningful opportunities for learnersParticipate in open events, recruitment activities and wider college initiativesWhat We're Looking ForWe would love to hear from you if you have:A degree in Computing, Games Design, Games Development, Computer Science or a related subjectRelevant industry experience and/or successful teaching experienceKnowledge of Games Design principles, Games Development pipelines, 3D Modelling, Environment Art, Unreal Engine and BlenderThe ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgroundsStrong communication, organisational and digital skillsA commitment to high-quality teaching, student success and continuous improvementA recognised teaching qualification is desirable, although we welcome applications from industry professionals who are willing to work towards one.We encourage early applications, as we may close the vacancy once we receive a sufficient number of strong applications.Working at Bournemouth and Poole CollegeMore than just a job.At Bournemouth & Poole College, we are passionate about turning potential into professionals.
