Audiology Administration Clerk

The Administration Clerk will be responsible for providing administration support and reception cover to the Audiology Service. This includes booking patients into clinic, booking appointments, booking patient transport and interpreters, cashing up clinics as necessary, dealing with telephone calls and face to face enquiries from the public, staff, and other Health Care Providers, and providing reception cover.

The job holder will also ensure that all activity data and referral to treatment data is recorded accurately, entering patient outcomes onto relevant IT systems in accordance with the Patient Access Policy.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential
  • Working experience/knowledge of computers, data input and/or word processing
  • Previous receptionist/clerical experience in an administrative setting
  • Experience of working face to face and/or telephone contact with the general public
  • Experience of offering suggestions for improving own or team working practices.
  • Previous NHS experience

Knowledge

Essential
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Auditbase and/or Patient Administration System
  • A knowledge of the 6 week diagnostic and 18 week Referral to Treatment targets and policies

Qualifications

Essential
  • GCSEs (Grade C/4 and above or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Desirable
  • NVQ2 in Business Administration or equivalent

Other Requirements

Essential
  • Awareness of limitation of own knowledge/skills
