Are you passionate about data and keen to make a real difference in healthcare Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Informatics team and support the delivery of high-quality, trusted information that underpins clinical, operational and strategic decision-making across the Trust.
About the roleAs a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in analysing, interpreting and presenting healthcare information for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with clinicians, managers and senior colleagues, you will help translate data into meaningful insight that supports service improvement, planning and performance.
You will contribute to both routine and ad-hoc reporting, support data quality improvement, and assist in the ongoing development of reporting tools, systems and processes across the Trust
Main duties of the job
The BI Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of a high quality health information service across the Trust. The post holder will provide analytical and technical support in the extraction, interpretation, analysis and presentation of routine reporting and ad hoc information requests for internal and external audiences. They will work collaboratively with the BI team to promote & support the continued development and improvement of data quality across BI services, quality assuring outputs before they are distributed to stakeholders/customers.The post holder will assist the Principal BI Analysts and BI Managers, supporting the maintenance and continued development of reporting tools, systems and processes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level education in a relevant subject (eg statistics, social science) or equivalent (or equivalent experience)
- GCSE Pass in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent
- 'A' Level Mathematics (E grade or better) or equivalent in computing/applications/IT
Experience
- Significant experience in NHS Information Management at degree level
- Significant experience of one or more industry-standard Query, Reporting and Analysis applications within a workplace environment.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Software
- Experience of the clinical environment of the NHS, its targets, definitions and monitoring methodologies
- Experience in analysis of healthcare data to provide support to clinicians and managers
- Experience of working with health service managers and professional to deliver their information requirements
- Experience in the use of Business Objects.
- Significant experience in a broadly comparable job within an acute hospital
- Evidence of collaborative working with other staff in same or other organisations
- Experience of working in partnership with external agencies
Skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex hospital data.
- Ability to communicate highly complex information clearly and simply to information users in an NHS setting and understand and translate their information requirements.
- Ability to help information users appreciate the value and purpose of corporate data
- Advanced keyboard skills to enable the extraction and manipulation of complex data at speed with accuracy.
- Ability to plan and organise complex programmes of work for self, some of which will be ongoing and may require adjustment to accommodate changing demands and situations.
- Ability to communicate highly complex information clearly and simply to information users in an NHS setting and understand and translate their information requirements.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of healthcare information systems
- Advanced understanding of the principles of Information Management
- Detailed, expert-level, knowledge of NHS data standards and NHS Information Management issues
- Advanced knowledge of MS's 'Office' spreadsheet and relational database management systems
