Head of Accounting (US) (London)

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of Accounting (US) to join the team of a growing, dynamic global business in the online gaming industry.

This role offers hybrid working with 3 days working from either our London or Malta office and 2 days working from home.

Your responsibilities:
  • Assist the Group Financial Controller and Head of FP&A in:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for US subsidiaries
  • Review of US subsidiary bookkeeping
  • Preparation of accounting schedules (bank reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition to IFRS)
  • Collaborate with Group FP&A to analyze P&L and variances
  • Prepare management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
  • Liaise with US subsidiary management for reporting packs
  • Coordinate with auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Prepare US statutory and statistical returns
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting
  • Ensure SOX compliance, manage internal controls over financial reporting
  • Implement and update accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage finance projects such as:
  • EPR enhancements for reporting and controls
  • Implementation of consolidation tools
  • Enhancements to Revenue Automation platform
  • Integration of Revenue Automation with ERP systems
  • Oversee accounting software and systems
  • Perform other finance and operational projects as needed
What you bring:
  • Accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)
  • Experience in financial reporting, preferably for listed companies
  • Deep knowledge of SOX, IFRS, US GAAP, and tax compliance
  • Experience with tax reconciliation and reporting
  • Audit and review experience for listed companies
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely with teams in UK and North America
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central / Navision and QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Industry experience is a plus
