Head of Accounting (US) (London)
We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of Accounting (US) to join the team of a growing, dynamic global business in the online gaming industry.
This role offers hybrid working with 3 days working from either our London or Malta office and 2 days working from home.
- Assist the Group Financial Controller and Head of FP&A in:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for US subsidiaries
- Review of US subsidiary bookkeeping
- Preparation of accounting schedules (bank reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition to IFRS)
- Collaborate with Group FP&A to analyze P&L and variances
- Prepare management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Liaise with US subsidiary management for reporting packs
- Coordinate with auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Prepare US statutory and statistical returns
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting
- Ensure SOX compliance, manage internal controls over financial reporting
- Implement and update accounting policies and procedures
- Manage finance projects such as:
- EPR enhancements for reporting and controls
- Implementation of consolidation tools
- Enhancements to Revenue Automation platform
- Integration of Revenue Automation with ERP systems
- Oversee accounting software and systems
- Perform other finance and operational projects as needed
- Accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)
- Experience in financial reporting, preferably for listed companies
- Deep knowledge of SOX, IFRS, US GAAP, and tax compliance
- Experience with tax reconciliation and reporting
- Audit and review experience for listed companies
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work remotely with teams in UK and North America
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central / Navision and QuickBooks
- Knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Industry experience is a plus
