Head of Technology and Product (London)

As Head of Technology and Product you will be the technical expert for teams developing new products, taking ideas from Deutsche Bank and bringing them to life using a design driven, minimum viable product development process. Taking advantage of the latest software development techniques, services and technologies you will inspire & motivate teams to deliver working products back to the bank. Once You Are Here, You Will- Drive Breaking Waves technology strategy:
- Continue to leverage technology for scale, with the appropriate usage of Generative AI in workflows.
- Drive pragmatic delivery and adoption of new technologies.
- Look for creative but pragmatic solutions to reduce friction and improve productivity.
- Leverage AI and help our engineers leverage AI to increase productivity.
- Own Breaking Waves product strategy:
- Connect with our stakeholders in the bank to hear their issues and refine the Breaking Wave offering.
- Manage the requirements backlog and prioritise based on our customers needs.
- Maintain the engineering quality throughout Breaking Wave:
- Developing engineering principles & standards and ensure they are met through evangelism & workshops.
- Nurture a safe environment to learn, reduce risk & delight customers.
- Champion a fail-fast, lean engineering culture.
- Operate Wave, Breaking Waves self-serve product:
- Own all production environment processes including privileged access and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop the security model for both preventing and detecting attacks and build efficient risk event handling processes.
- Monitor capacity and maintain appropriate KPI/KRIs.
- Provide accurate project billing & financial reporting as required.
- Help create a workplace where great engineers can do their best work, ensuring tools & technical approach are suitable at scale.
- Champion developer experience.
- Review and improve the toolset.
- Get hands-on to assist in projects and internal solutions where required.
- Previous engineering leadership experience, preferably within Fintech.
- Experience scaling early-stage startups (Fintech desirable) to global orgs (e.g. Angel-Series C).
- Experience building relationships with Product Owners & other stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met.
- Experience building software in a regulated environment (e.g. PCI-DSS, GDPR, PSD2 FCA, ISO27001).
- Experience designing products & platforms using modern software architectures, e.g. serverless, micro-services using PaaS/SaaS.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and developing clear strategy.
- Experience of modern development languages, e.g. Go, Scala, JavaScript/Typescript or Swift.
- Experience working with the principles of lean engineering in an agile fashion.
- Flexibility and openness to embrace change.
