BI Developer
This is a hybrid role with the base location being our office in Derbyshire. Applicants must be within an acceptable commutable distance of this location and be able to travel to alternative locations. We have an opportunity to join our thriving Data & Analytics team with an exciting plan and long-term vision. We are seeking an experienced business intelligence developer, with skills in Power BI, to build, deploy and embed our reporting platform into the business.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can source and transform data, as well as build sector leading BI Dashboards which are visually appealing, easy to understand and provides the business with the insight required to make decisions. Insights help us to transform the way we work, making us more effective, efficient and profitable for the future. We are looking to exceed the requirements set out by our stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseExperience and Knowledge:
- Proven experience designing and developing advanced data visualisation solutions using Power BI with experience developing in Tableau being advantageous.
- Understanding of data visualisation principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets from various data sources such as SQL Server and Azure.
- Understanding of data modelling techniques.
- Experience optimising data models, calculations and visualisations for performance and user experience.
- Proven experience of collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile manor.
- Knowledge of BI governance practices including row level security and user permissions.
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders throughout the development life cycle.
Key Outputs
- Development of Breedon’s BI and reporting to deliver leading industry and best practice visualisations across the Group.
- Supporting the delivery of Federated Model in which divisions and teams can develop their own BI and reporting to service their own needs in a simple manner.
- Work with key stakeholders to gather requirements, to deliver enhanced insight.
- To support data and reporting activity on transformation and change projects.
- Highlighting and supporting the resolution of data quality issues at source with the business.
- Creation of high standard documentation to support BI development.
- Critical risk and issue escalations to the BI Manager.
- Reviewing tool performance and identifying issues including troubleshooting and fixing related problems to exceed customer expectations.
- Scheduling training and supporting analysts across the business, team members and end users.
- Management of user security.
