About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to spearhead sales of Trovato to commercial law firms. This is a high-impact role where you'll own the full business development lifecycle, from lead generation to closing deals. As an early team member, you'll play a key part in our growth, engaging with innovation leads, lawyers, CIOs, and heads of AI at target firms. This position starts on a commission-only basis to align with our start-up phase, with the potential for equity grants once you've demonstrated success by securing clients and driving revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage potential customers in our target markets (UK, USA, South Africa, Australia) through targeted outreach, leveraging LinkedIn, email campaigns, webinars, and industry networks.
- Arrange and conduct pitches, product demos, and virtual/in-person meetings to showcase Trovato's value in automating legal workflows, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency.
- Manage the sales funnel: qualify leads, nurture relationships, handle objections, and follow up post-demo to convert pilots into paid subscriptions.
- Collaborate with our founder and team to refine sales strategies, develop case studies, and track metrics like customer acquisition cost (CAC) and lifetime value (LTV).
- Represent Brenton Partners at legal tech conferences (e.g., ILTA) and webinars to build brand awareness.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally in legal tech, SaaS, or AI solutions (experience selling to law firms is a plus).
- Strong understanding of the legal industry, including challenges in document management, e-discovery, contract analysis, and AI adoption.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex tech solutions to non-technical decision-makers.
- Self-starter mindset: comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced start-up environment, with the hustle to generate and close leads independently.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot or similar) and sales methodologies.
- Network in the legal sector (UK, USA, SA, or Australia) is highly desirable.
