An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing AI and technology business operating across EMEA. Our client supports highly regulated and mission-critical sectors and is building next-generation, secure, and scalable infrastructure to enable AI adoption at scale.

Due to continued growth, the business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead finance operations and support scaling.

The Role - Financial Controller

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong financial governance, IFRS-compliant reporting, and scalable processes to support rapid expansion.

This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone comfortable operating in a high-growth, evolving environment, with the opportunity to shape finance processes and leverage emerging automation and AI tools to enhance insight and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead group-wide budgeting and forecasting across multiple legal entities
  • Develop and maintain rolling forecasts aligned to commercial and operational drivers
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and scenario analysis
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and timeliness

Group Financial Reporting & Control

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with IFRS
  • Manage group consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
  • Own month-end and year-end close processes across the group
  • Maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and documentation

Multi-Entity & International Finance

  • Provide financial oversight across multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Ensure accurate intercompany accounting and balance reconciliations
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisers, and local partners
  • Support the set-up and integration of new entities as the business scales

Strategic, Board & Investor Reporting

  • Support board and investor reporting, including performance analysis and forecasts
  • Develop high-quality management reporting and KPIs
  • Provide commercial insight to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Leverage data, analytics, and automation to enhance reporting quality

Audit, Compliance & Governance

  • Manage the external audit process across group entities
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory filings
  • Maintain effective financial governance and internal control frameworks

Key Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Experience & Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS reporting and group consolidation
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally in a high-growth or start-up environment
  • Experience managing multi-entity and international finance structures
  • Experience overseeing outsourced finance teams or shared service providers
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Experience with modern ERP and finance systems (e.g. Sage Intacct, Xero)
  • Comfortable adopting automation and emerging technology within finance
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills

On Offer

  • Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 base, with flexibility up to £120,000 for exceptional candidates with long-term industry experience
  • Hybrid Working: Flexible hybrid model across the UK, with HQ based in London
  • Contract: Permanent
