Senior Technical Project Manager - Contract
Location: Hybrid - East Grinstead (attendance as required)Contract Length: 6 Months
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to join a large, well-established organisation delivering a portfolio of Marketing and Digital projects. This is a hybrid contract role offering flexibility alongside high-profile, business-critical initiatives.
Role Overview
The Senior Technical Project Manager will be responsible for planning, leading, and delivering multiple technical and business projects from initiation through to delivery and benefits realisation. You will act as the key interface between the business, technical delivery teams, and third-party suppliers, ensuring effective governance and successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects across the full project lifecycle
- Define deliverables, resource requirements, schedules, and work plans
- Produce accurate project estimates with appropriate contingencies
- Own and control project budgets and financial reporting
- Build and manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders
- Manage third-party suppliers and partners to ensure successful delivery
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and change control
- Ensure compliance with agreed project governance and standards
- Lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional matrix teams
- Deliver clear project updates, reports, and presentations
- Support supplier selection and evaluation of third-party tenders
- Manage transition to support and service handover
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven track record delivering medium to large-scale technical projects
- Strong experience managing multi-supplier and cross-functional teams
- Excellent stakeholder management, including senior leadership engagement
- Hands-on experience with project planning, reporting, and governance
- Knowledge of recognised PM methodologies (PRINCE2, Agile, PMI, MSP, etc.)
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience with service transitions and operational handovers
- Broad technical experience including:
- Networks, servers, distributed systems, SQL
- Windows and Linux environments
- ITIL disciplines
