Bright Purple is working with a fast-growing technology company developing a genuinely life-saving medical product. They’re now moving from early concept into alpha prototype and detailed design, and they’re looking for an Electronics Engineer who wants real ownership, real impact, and real technical challenge.
You’ll be joining a small, highly capable team of two who span hardware and firmware, at a pivotal point where your design decisions will directly shape the product that goes into manufacture — and ultimately into clinical use. What you’ll be doing This is a true end-to-end electronics role. You’ll take ownership of design from concept ideation through to manufacturing, working closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners as the product matures.

They’re now moving from early concept into alpha prototype and detailed design, and they’re looking for an Electronics Engineer who wants real ownership, real impact, and real technical challenge.
You’ll be joining a small, highly capable team of two who span hardware and firmware, at a pivotal point where your design decisions will directly shape the product that goes into manufacture — and ultimately into clinical use. What you’ll be doing This is a true end-to-end electronics role. You’ll take ownership of design from concept ideation through to manufacturing, working closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners as the product matures.
On a day-to-day basis you’ll be:
- Designing and developing electronics around Arm Cortex-M microcontrollers
- Owning schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
- Debugging complex hardware issues using oscilloscopes, signal generators, VNAs and more
- Supporting DFM and DFT as designs transition towards manufacture
- Getting hands-on in the lab with soldering and rework (iron and hot air)
- Contributing to EMC and safety compliance activities
- Collaborating closely with firmware, mechanical and external partners
You’ll be an experienced Electronics Engineer who’s comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions, rather than just executing someone else’s design.
Essential experience:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
- At least 2+ years’ industry experience (around 5 years would be ideal)
- Strong proficiency with Altium Designer
- Experience designing hardware around Cortex-M MCUs
- Excellent debug skills and confidence working in the lab
- Understanding of EMC and safety compliance
- Experience with DFM / DFT
- Comfortable with soldering and rework
- Hands-on use of lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, VNA)
- Medical device development experience
- Exposure to ISO 14971 risk management
- Familiarity with IEC (phone number removed) and related standards
- HF / RF design experience
- Tools such as Keysight ADS
- Firmware experience, particularly with ST or Nordic Semiconductor
- You’ll work on a product that genuinely saves lives
- You’ll have real ownership, not just a small slice of the design
