Senior Cloud Engineer - GCP

We are looking for a contract Senior Cloud Engineer who can take ownership of a growing Google Cloud platform, strengthen CI/CD pipelines, and push automation hard. £475 p/d, fully remote and outside IR35 is the juicy detail. If you enjoy improving systems, questioning “the way it’s always been done”, and working in a high-expectation environment then this role is for you. Automation using GCP and Kubernetes is the key for this role   What you’ll be doing  

• Working across core GCP services including Compute Engine, IAM, VPC, Cloud SQL (Postgres), and networking
• Building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines that teams actually trust
• Driving automation-first engineering (because manual changes belong in the past)
• Supporting and evolving a Kubernetes (GKE) platform running production workloads
• Using Ansible to manage and standardise environments
• Giving confident, in-depth updates, demos, and explanations of your work — often at short notice

  What is needed:  

• Solid understanding of Google Cloud fundamentals
• Strong CI/CD and automation experience
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience (GKE ideal)
• Someone confident enough to challenge, suggest improvements, and own outcomes
• Comfortable working under pressure in a demanding client environment
