Our work spans everything from TV ads to eCommerce sites and local authority web portals – but the Interactive department primarily use ASP.NET, Azure and Umbraco CMS for web development – as well as PHP technologies such as Drupal, Craft, WordPress and Laravel, with use of headless CMS tech fronted by Netlify, Gatsby and Next.js.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, confident, Front-End Web Developer. Someone who cares first and foremost about turning a design for screen into something that’s pixel perfect and works on any device – in any orientation.
Your typical day to day would be building, evolving, and supporting responsive, accessible websites and web applications to the very highest of standards – testing your work to ensure compliance and compatibility cross-device and cross-platform.
Ideally, you’ll have agency experience with a strong portfolio of existing websites / applications and have been a front-end developer for 3-5 years with a strong interest in learning and implementing cutting-edge front end web technologies with an appreciation of the full lifecycle of projects from planning to go-live.
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience of HTML, CSS/SASS
- You don’t have to be a JavaScript (JS) Guru, but utilising JS is a requirement
- Experience and familiarity with JS frameworks (Angular, Vue, or React)
- Extensive experience in building responsive, mobile-first, websites
- Experience of writing accessible WCAG2.x code
- Able to provide accurate estimations and able to work within budget
- Someone who cares about creating lightweight/lean pages with a focus on performance and page speed
- Someone who is both self-efficient and able to work remotely but also able to work well with the wider team
- A quick learner who is comfortable picking up new technologies and who can get up to speed quickly with other people’s code and standards
- Obsessive attention to detail and someone who takes great pride in creating flawless work who cares about creating pixel perfect, fully tested sites and apps.
- Experience of working with the design and development teams on component-based work, extending design guidelines and making the transition from design, to front-end, to back-end as seamless as possible
- Solid Technical SEO experience
- The ability to multi-task across multiple projects
- A positive attitude and a great team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
