IT Technician Apprentice
We are looking to appoint an IT Technician Apprentice at an exciting time of the trust’s development, to provide IT Support across the Brigshaw Learning Partnership Trust. The IT Technician will be based at the High School, however expected to support work across all the schools within the trust.
Role
Curriculum
- To provide first line support to pupils, staff and other agencies
- To effectively prioritise support tasks
- To provide guidance and support to the curriculum areas to ensure that ICT is used effectively to support the curriculum
- To ensure that all IT resources are maintained to the highest possible standards
- Assist with installation/maintenance of network infrastructure components - network components, data cabling, data ports and network communications
- Escalate problems to the Lead ICT Technicians, Director of Digital Services or outside agencies where necessary
Pupils
- To use specialist skills, training and expertise to support pupils in their use of ICT resources, and equipment
- To work with the ICT Lead technicians to develop consistent and effective practice in in-class support
- To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to and appropriate person
- To demonstrate a commitment to the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils
Staff and other agencies
- To be part of a focused team with the Director of Digital Services to gain best use and practice from new technologies across the School and the Trust
Resources
- To assist in the daily running of all computer based systems and equipment
- To keep up to date with the latest version of software applications used by colleagues across the Trust
- Maintain all IT equipment used within schools to a high standard and react promptly to any failures
- To be familiar with all systems used in the management and control of practical resources, to ensure that ICT across the BLP has appropriate specialist resources including: stock control, compiling orders and maintaining inventories where appropriate
Health and Safety
- To work with colleagues in ensuring that health and safety measures are regularly monitored assessed and reviewed
- To ensure the ‘best practice' procedures for health and safety are maintained
- To work with colleagues and outside agencies to ensure electrical equipment is safe to use
- To ensure that materials, including dangerous substances, are dealt with appropriately in line with, WEEE or any other relevant regulation
- To ensure that all appropriate materials and equipment are safely stored
- To assist in routine and non-routine maintenance of equipment is carried out on a regular and systematic basis
Other Duties
- Ensure that all safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to
- Work with users to ensure all personal data remains safe
- Contributes to the values and co-operative ethos of the school
- To attend and participate in relevant meeting as required
- Undertake other appropriate duties as directed by the Director of Digital Services
