ROLE DESCRIPTION

Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy delivering a major NHS digital programme and are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join the team. The post holder will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability applications and automated deployment pipelines in line with security and performance best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure

• Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions using AWS services
• Deploy and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and associated tooling
• Optimise cloud architecture for maximum efficiency, resilience, and performance
• Build and maintain highly available, highly performant applications at scale

CI/CD & Automation

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment using GitHub Actions
• Build and manage AWS Lambda functions and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the cloud infrastructure

Security & Governance

• Ensure security best practices are applied consistently across all cloud systems
• Contribute to security reviews and remediation of identified risks

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work within an Agile delivery environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Define, design, and deliver new features in partnership with product and engineering teams
• Strong Python development skills applied across automation, tooling, and backend services

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Knowledge of Apigee API management
• Knowledge of FHIR and HL7 healthcare data standards
• React front-end development experience
