Cyber Security Analyst
Bristow Holland is working with a growing company in Colchester that is looking to appoint a Cyber Security Analyst to strengthen its cyber security capability across the organisation.

You will be responsible for proactively monitoring and supporting the organisation’s cyber security posture. Using a range of security tools and monitoring systems, you’ll help investigate potential threats, identify vulnerabilities, and assist in implementing measures to protect systems and data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor network traffic, systems, and applications for suspicious activity
- Assist with proactive threat hunting to identify vulnerabilities and risks
- Support investigation and response to security incidents
- Work closely with IT teams to help remediate vulnerabilities and implement security controls
- Document incidents and assist with post-incident analysis reports
- Support the management and optimisation of security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection
- Stay up to date with emerging security threats and technologies
- Contribute to cyber security projects and solution implementations
- Provide guidance to staff on cyber hygiene and data protection best practices
Key Skills:
- Degree in Cyber Security, IT, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of or understanding of SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection tools
- Basic understanding of networking principles and the OSI model
- Familiarity with scripting tools and Linux environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Desirable Skills:
- Cyber security or networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CCNA, etc.)
