The role:

Digital & Technology Portfolio ManagerYou'll be part of Operations Delivery Intelligence within the Operations directorate, overseeing the technology strategy, delivery and governance of a portfolio of products and systems. This area plays an important role in ensuring the airline's technology estate remains secure, scalable and reliable, while supporting investment in new solutions that improve operational performance and customer outcomes.

What you'll do:

Build trusted relationships with senior business and Digital stakeholders, acting as a strategic technology adviserTranslate product and business priorities into a technology agenda that delivers value, resilience and positive customer outcomesAdvise on technical feasibility, risks and trade-offs to inform product and supplier decisionsPartner with Product Managers to build and maintain product roadmaps, balancing business, technology, security and resilience prioritiesManage supplier relationships and performance, including contracts, service levels and commercial obligationsLead technology cost-planning activity and support the development of technology business casesLead technology investment prioritisation across change, maintenance, security and regulatory commitmentsEnsure technology risks, issues and technical debt are identified, assessed and managedLead or support technology workstreams within cross-business programmes and transformation initiativesAct as the link between the business, BA Digital and suppliers, ensuring compliance with technology standards and governanceDevelop team capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planningWhat you'll bring to British Airways: Strong technology delivery leadership across complex, multi-supplier environmentsStrong supplier and commercial management capability, including service levels and third-party governanceKnowledge of cloud platforms, modern technology architectures and enterprise delivery practicesStrong understanding of technology risk, cyber security, resilience and compliance principlesAbility to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, with strong prioritisation and decision-making skillsExperience developing technology roadmaps and translating business and Digital priorities into technology investment plansAbility to balance cost, value and risk, helping stakeholders make informed technology and investment decisionsStrong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders and suppliersExperience managing technology budgets, forecasts and investment business casesProficiency in technology planning, governance and reporting tools, including Jira, Confluence, Excel and PowerPointStrong analytical and problem-solving capability, particularly when resolving technical delivery challengesProactive and positive approach, with a strong focus on solving problems and delivering outcomesClear and articulate communication skillsCalm and resilient approach under pressureCollaborative, flexible and action-oriented working styleStrong ownership and accountability for successful business and technology outcomesCommitment to developing others through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharingYour experience:15+ years' experience delivering complex, multi-technology programmesExperience gained within a top-tier technology consulting firm, including a Big Four organisationProven track record of managing and completing multiple programmes simultaneously, delivering on time, within budget and with the expected impactMaster's-level qualification in a technical field or equivalent industry experienceDegree in a related technical discipline such as Engineering, Information Systems or Computer Science is advantageousExperience working in regulated or operationally critical industries, such as aviation or transport, is advantageousWhat we offer: We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play.
