Bromley Healthcare is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT Infrastructure and Client Computing Manager to lead the delivery, security & continual improvement of our core digital services. This is an exciting opportunity for a technology leader with expertise in Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, cyber security and modern digital technologies, including the safe adoption of AI-enabled solutions.
As a key member of the IT leadership team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for infrastructure, networks, servers, cloud services, telephony and end-user computing, supporting over 1,000 colleagues across multiple locations. You will play a vital role in maintaining secure, resilient and high-performing services that enable staff to deliver outstanding care.
You will lead and develop the Infrastructure and Client Computing team, drive service improvements, oversee technology projects and ensure compliance with NHS cyber security and information governance requirements, including Cyber Essentials Plus. Working closely with stakeholders, suppliers and NHS partners, you will help shape the future of digital services at Bromley Healthcare.
Main duties of the job
- Lead and develop the Infrastructure and Client Computing team, driving service performance, resilience and continual improvement.
- Manage supplier relationships and third-party support contracts, ensuring effective performance and value for money.
- Oversee delivery of technical cyber security controls supporting Cyber Essentials Plus, DSPT and NHS cyber security standards.
- Ensure infrastructure, cloud and end-user computing services support audit readiness, cyber resilience, business continuity and incident response.
- Maintain infrastructure platforms within vendor support and lead the planning and delivery of upgrades and lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with patching, endpoint protection and cyber security standards.
- Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and client computing service issues and provide leadership, coaching and development to technical staff, maximising team capability and performance.
- Provide specialist expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, virtualisation and cloud services.
- Provide technical leadership and best practice guidance across infrastructure technologies including VMware, HPE SAN, Cisco Meraki and Fortinet.
- Support the safe, secure and proportionate adoption of AI-enabled technologies, ensuring compliance with information governance, data protection, clinical safety, cyber security and organisational policies.

Job responsibilities
The IT Infrastructure and Client Computing Manager is responsible for the leadership, security, resilience and continual improvement of Bromley Healthcares IT infrastructure, client computing and core digital services. Reporting to the Head of IT, the postholder will lead the delivery and support of Microsoft 365, cloud services, networks, servers, cybersecurity, and end-user computing platforms, ensuring services are reliable, secure, and aligned with organisational and NHS requirements.
The role provides technical leadership across infrastructure operations, cyber resilience, service development and digital transformation. The postholder will lead a team of technical specialists, manage supplier relationships, oversee service performance and contribute to the strategic direction of the Digital Directorate. Working closely with Information Governance, Clinical Safety, Data Protection and operational colleagues, they will ensure the safe introduction of new technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, while maintaining compliance with relevant security, governance and regulatory standards.
Service Development and Operational Leadership
- Lead the planning, development and continual improvement of infrastructure and client computing services.
- Ensure digital services remain secure, resilient, available and fit for purpose.
- Lead technical projects, system upgrades and service improvement initiatives.
- Promote automation, standardisation and best practice to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Maintain oversight of incidents, service requests and service performance to ensure agreed targets are achieved.
- Ensure policies, procedures and operational documentation are maintained and regularly reviewed.
- Represent the service within change management and technical governance processes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that deliver measurable business benefits.
- Work with Information Governance, Clinical Safety and Procurement teams to assess technical, cyber security and AI-related risks associated with new technologies and suppliers.
People Management and Communication
- Lead, manage and develop the Infrastructure and Client Computing team.
- Allocate resources effectively to balance operational priorities, project delivery and service improvement.

Digital Directorate Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide specialist technical leadership and contribute to the strategic development of digital services.
- Support the Head of IT with financial planning, budget management, supplier oversight and value-for-money initiatives.
- Contribute to digital, infrastructure, cyber security and service improvement strategies.
- Develop and monitor performance indicators to ensure delivery of agreed service, quality and security outcomes.
- Assess and communicate risks, impacts and dependencies associated with technology change.
- Represent the Digital Directorate at internal and external meetings as required.
- Participate in the IT on-call and out-of-hours arrangements where necessary to support service continuity.
- Plan and lead complex IT projects and programmes, including the implementation of new technologies, system enhancements and the expansion of digital services to new user groups.
The successful candidate will have significant experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, technical teams and supplier relationships within a complex environment, together with strong knowledge of cyber security, cloud technologies and digital service delivery
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to or with experience equivalent to a degree level qualification
- Recognised professional IT qualification or certification (e.g. BCS, CCNA, CISSP, ITIL or equivalent).

Experience
- 5 Years Technical Management Experience
- Experience managing stakeholders, third-party suppliers and contracts within a complex IT environment
- IT Management within NHS environment
- Experience planning and leading cyber security, AI governance and digital resilience improvements within NHS, public sector or regulated environment

- AI-related technical, operational, security and governance risks, implementing appropriate controls to support safe and compliant use of AI technologies
