As a Junior Controller within our global accounting organisation, you will be instrumental in managing the financial integrity of specific entities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, and regulatory standards. What You'll Do:
- Lead accounting activities for designated entities, collaborating closely with finance and business stakeholders.
- Take full ownership of balance sheet and P&L integrity, performing detailed variance analysis and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate external and internal financial reporting, maintaining strict adherence to compliance frameworks including SOx.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, overseeing reconciliations and statutory filings.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external accounting firms to sustain strong fiscal relationships.
- Drive process improvements and participate in cross-functional innovation initiatives to optimise accounting practices.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities aligned with strategic department goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CRA).
- 5-8 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally within multinational or Big4 environments.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, SOx, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams, coaching, and developing talent.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency with financial systems such as SAP or similar IT tools.
- Experience working with regulatory authorities or in audit processes.
- Advanced IT skills and familiarity with financial planning tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
- Knowledge of statutory and statistical filings.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics, complemented by professional certifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a large, international corporate or Big4 setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP, IFRS, and SOx compliance, with a track record of managing and developing teams.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
