Azure Infrastructure Engineer
Broster Buchanan are partnered with a global automotive brand who are looking for an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join their growing IT department, primarily to help manage and build their core Azure infrastructure during an exciting time with plenty of upcoming projects. Approximately 20% of the work will be BAU, with 80% focused on new projects. On offer is a salary of up to £50k (with some flexibility for the right person), a hybrid work pattern with 2 days onsite in central Birmingham, and a great benefits package as outlined at the bottom.Responsibilities:
- Be the key individual responsible for the maintenance, management and design of their nearly 100% Azure based infrastructure environment
- Act as the subject matter expert for building, managing, and maintaining their Remote Desktop Service
- Oversee core networking across physical and cloud environments, specifically configuring and managing Meraki firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and Azure Network Security Groups
- Lead domain migrations, manage Active Directory/Entra ID, and oversee O365 tenant administration
- Resolve complex escalated incidents, document technical troubleshooting workflows, and ensure system performance complies with SLAs
- Collaborate closely with the Application Super Users Group and maintain effective working relationships with international colleagues across the UK and Europe
- Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining all areas of Azure infrastructure, including Networking, VMs, Automation, and Monitoring
- Hands-on experience building and managing Remote Desktop Services, any exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and hardware, ideally within Meraki environments, including VPNs, VLANs, NSGs, and Firewalls
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server architecture, Active Directory/Entra ID, virtualisation, SQL/Oracle infrastructure, and Disaster Recovery planning
- Good experience working within ITIL Framework of Service Management
