Head of Architecture Practice

Our client is building one of the UK's most influential digital architecture communities, supporting some of the country's largest digital transformation programmes across government and public services. They are seeking a Head of Architecture Practice to lead this growing team permanently, reporting directly to the Chief Technical Architect.   Based on a hybrid model and offering £180,000 to £200,000 plus executive bonus and benefits, this role is fundamentally about leadership, people development, and creating a thriving architecture practice rather than spending time reviewing designs.

  • Lead and develop a community of Enterprise and Solution Architects delivering AI-enabled digital services across the public sector
  • £180,000 to £200,000 plus executive bonus, hybrid working, and executive benefits package
  • Shape capability, culture, and utilisation across one of the UK's largest digital transformation portfolios with genuine influence at the highest level
Preferred Requirements
  • Proven track record as a Chief Architect, Enterprise Architect, Lead Architect, or Head of Architecture with demonstrated success building and scaling teams
  • Outstanding leadership capability with experience developing people, coaching talent, and growing future leaders
  • Strong practice management skills, including resource planning, utilisation improvement, and team performance
  • Credible architecture background combined with commercial awareness and executive stakeholder management experience
  • Experience working in complex, regulated environments or large-scale digital transformation programmes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recognised architecture qualification or certification (TOGAF, ITIL, or equivalent)
  • Track record of building consulting teams or technology communities in a professional services or enterprise environment
  • Experience in government, public sector, or large-scale digital transformation delivery
