Artificial Intelligence Engineer
AI Engineer
Location: Hybrid - London
Package: Negotiable + Benefits
We are seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy Generative AI and AI‐driven applications using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and leading Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic).
This role is hands‐on and delivery‐focused: you will move AI from prototype to production, working closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and risk & compliance to deliver safe, scalable, and compliant AI solutions for regulated insurance environments.
The day to day:
AI Solution Design & Delivery
- Design, build, and deploy AI‐powered applications including chatbots, copilots, document intelligence, and decision‐support tools for insurance use cases.
- Implement Retrieval‐Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns using structured and unstructured insurance data (policies, submissions, bordereaux, claims documents).
- Build LLM‐based workflows and agents using platforms such as ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic).
Cloud & Platform Engineering (GCP)
- Develop and deploy AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform, leveraging services such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run, and secure API integrations.
- Implement scalable, resilient architectures suitable for production use in a regulated financial services environment.
- Integrate AI services into existing business applications and workflows.
Data, MLOps & Engineering
- Work with Data Engineers and Analysts to prepare, embed, and manage data for AI use cases, including vector databases and embeddings.
- Implement CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and model performance tracking for AI solutions.
- Ensure solutions are maintainable, reusable, and cost‐effective.
Responsible AI & Governance
- Design AI solutions that align with Responsible AI, GDPR, and insurance regulatory expectations.
- Implement controls for data privacy, prompt safety, hallucination mitigation, and auditability.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure safe AI adoption.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Product Owners, Underwriters, Brokers, Operations, and Technology teams to translate business problems into AI solutions.
- Clearly explain AI concepts, limitations, and outcomes to non‐technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to shaping Brown & Brown Europe’s AI standards, patterns, and reusable components.
