Senior Project Manager

Project Manager – Permanent Role

Financial Services Platform| Change & Transformation | M&A Exposure Beneficial

We are partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to appoint an experienced Project Manager with exposure to programme-level delivery. Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions (M&A) or post-deal integration activity would be highly beneficial.

This role sits within a central Change & Transformation function and offers the opportunity to deliver complex, high-profile initiatives across business, control, and support functions within a regulated financial services environment.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of complex change initiatives, from mobilisation through to implementation and handover into business-as-usual (BAU). You will work closely with Programme Managers, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, often within larger transformation or integration programmes.

This is a hands-on delivery role, requiring strong governance, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive change across people, process, and technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver assigned projects end-to-end, ensuring objectives are met within agreed scope, time, cost, and quality
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and delivery artefacts
  • Manage project-level risks, issues, dependencies, and resources, escalating appropriately
  • Provide clear, accurate reporting to Programme Managers, sponsors, and governance forums
  • Act as a key point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and engagement
  • Operate within established programme governance frameworks, aligning delivery to wider programme objectives
  • Support programme-level coordination, including management of cross-project dependencies
  • Drive business and operational readiness, ensuring successful transition of deliverables into BAU
  • Support the delivery of target operating models and future-state ways of working
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit standards, and relevant financial services regulations
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement
About the Environment

You will join a global Change & Transformation function acting as a strategic enabler of enterprise-wide change. The team delivers a diverse portfolio of initiatives including regulatory change, acquisitions and integrations, legal entity rationalisations, and large-scale cross-functional transformation.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex business change
  • Exposure to working within large programmes or multi-project environments
  • Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, post-merger integration, or corporate development initiatives is highly desirable
  • Strong background in financial services, with understanding of regulatory and control frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience delivering change across people, process, and technology
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders
  • Robust governance, risk, and issue management capability
  • Proactive, delivery-focused mindset with strong follow-through
  • Experience working with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Professional project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APMG, MSP) are desirable
