Product Designer (UX)

Our client, a leading asset manager, is currently looking to onboard a product designer on an initial 12-month contract to focus on enhancing their website.

Location: Manchester (3 days onsite)

Day Rate: £500 PAYE (DOE)

This role requires a multidisciplinary designer with strong expertise in content design, user experience, and accessibility. You’ll work collaboratively across teams to create clear, user-centered content and design solutions that communicate complex concepts in a simple, accessible way.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated understanding of government content guidelines (e.g., GOV.UK), content best practices, and writing for accessibility .
  • Skilled in using Design Systems (such as Storybook and Figma) to build and maintain consistent prototypes and visual designs.
  • Familiarity and, ideally, experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar content management systems.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information —particularly in financial or investment contexts—into clear, plain English.
  • Experience producing a range of content types, including microcopy, conversational interfaces, product marketing materials, and instructional content , with an adaptable tone and format depending on the medium.
  • Contribution to research and discovery activities , including assisting with research plans, discussion guides, prototype creation, and synthesizing insights.
  • Ownership of the design production and sign-off process , collaborating with product teams, business stakeholders, and compliance partners.
  • Active engagement with key collaborators such as product managers, marketers, UX designers, developers, and subject matter experts across legal, compliance, business strategy, and customer services.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles , the Double Diamond process , and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma , as this will be the main environment for creating and iterating design work.
