What's the role? The role is part of the BRUSH Group IT Operations function with purpose of the role to lead BRUSH’s IT Infrastructure Team, owning day to day management and coordinating enhancements to the Brush IT Infrastructure services across all business locations.The position leads a team of internal engineers, across multiple sites, alongside externally managed service providers (MSPs) whose day to day responsibilities include ensuring the BRUSH IT infrastructure meets all business demands regarding capacity and availability, ensuring maintenance plans are adhered and subject to continuous development, lifecycle managed and meet key KPI’s to deliver both a fit for purpose environment and high uptime. Additionally the team provide a 3rd level escalation to the service delivery team and will contribute to the major incident management response and change management processes.Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, manage, and report on Infrastructure operational KPIs and SLAs, driving continuous service improvement and service reliability.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities for major incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked to completion.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for major incidents, coordinating technical teams, third-party suppliers, and business communications.
- Ensure infrastructure resilience, failover, backup, and recovery solutions are maintained, tested regularly, and evidenced through documented testing schedules and outcomes.
- Maintain and continuously improve infrastructure availability, recoverability, and business continuity capabilities.
- Own infrastructure technology roadmaps, ensuring platforms remain supported, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Infrastructure strategy, identifying opportunities for modernisation, standardisation, and optimisation.
- Manage infrastructure asset lifecycles, ensuring accurate asset records, warranty management, and timely technology refresh activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Infrastructure engineers.
- Experience (5 years) in a similar IT operational management role, with experience in defining and delivering operational standards
- Proven background governing outsourced MSP agreements and enterprise vendor relations.
- Strong knowledge of ITSM frameworks (ITIL v4 Foundation or higher preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop technical support teams.
- Experience handling major incidents and crisis communications with senior stakeholders.
