IT Assistant

Location: High Wycombe / Marlow / Amersham Full-time, Permanent Driving Licence Required

Are you a proactive, people-focused IT Support professional looking to grow your career in a friendly, fast-paced law firm? We're looking for an IT Assistant to join our expanding team and support 130+ users across multiple offices.

This is a newly created role offering fantastic exposure to systems, service desk support, training, data reporting, and emerging technologies - including AI. If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and learning new skills, this is a brilliant opportunity to develop.

You'll initially be based in High Wycombe or Marlow, with regular travel to High Wycombe, Marlow, Amersham, London (serviced office).

Once trained, you'll mainly work from Amersham or Marlow, with flexibility to provide cover at other sites.

Key Duties

  • Provide first-line IT support to 130+ users across all offices
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system issues quickly and effectively
  • Deliver in-person training sessions and create "how-to" guides for staff
  • Assist the IT Director and IT Manager with ongoing development projects
  • Diagnose technical issues by asking the right questions and identifying required support levels
  • Become an advanced user of key legal software packages (training provided)
  • Support API-based integrations and workflow improvements
  • Help build and maintain Power BI reports from multiple datasets
  • Contribute to the firm's adoption and rollout of AI solutions
  • Assist with staff inductions, including IT setup and training for new starters
  • Support new system implementations and office relocations
  • Maintain and improve content on the firm's intranet
  • Promote cyber security best practices in line with Cyber Essentials

Skills/Experience

  • Some experience in an IT Support or Service Desk environment
  • Confident communicator able to support non-technical colleagues
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving ability
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently, but also recognise when to ask for help
  • Resilient, approachable, and able to keep calm under pressure
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to work to deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
