Project Engineering Manager
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist contractor delivering complex projects across the data centre, critical infrastructure and energy sectors.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a flagship hyperscale data centre development in West London. The project comprises the construction of 18 data halls, high and medium voltage energy centres, associated infrastructure and support facilities, making it one of the region's most significant mission-critical developments.
As Project Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring technical excellence across the project, providing engineering leadership, governance and quality assurance throughout the construction lifecycle.
The Role Reporting into the senior project leadership team, you'll be responsible for technical governance, engineering compliance and quality assurance across the project. Working closely with design teams, construction managers and package leads, you'll ensure all engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual, statutory and project requirements.
This is a leadership position suited to an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in major construction or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering function across a major construction project.
- Establish engineering standards, governance processes and technical assurance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications and employer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Lead buildability and constructability reviews to improve project delivery.
- Manage engineering interfaces between design, construction and package teams.
- Oversee technical risk management and engineering compliance.
- Lead quality assurance processes, inspections and governance of NCRs.
- Drive continuous improvement and engineering best practice across the project.
- Mentor and develop Senior Engineers and wider engineering teams.
Essential:
- Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Significant experience leading engineering teams on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering governance, technical assurance and quality management.
- Experience managing design coordination, buildability and constructability reviews.
- Temporary Works knowledge and practical experience.
- NEC contract experience.
- CSCS Manager Card.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience delivering hyperscale data centre or mission-critical projects.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership.
