Your role at BRE
As a Cloud Engineer at BRE, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our cloud and on-premises infrastructure to support high availability and performance across IT services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting BRE's cloud environment within Microsoft Azure.
- Maintaining physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security appliances.
- Monitoring system performance, availability, and capacity, ensuring services meet agreed SLAs.
- Diagnosing and resolving incidents related to cloud services and IT infrastructure.
- Supporting compliance with internal and external audit and information security standards.
- Contributing to the implementation of ITIL-aligned best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Producing technical documentation and reports for infrastructure, change, and capacity management.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in roles such as Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Systems Administrator with responsibility for cloud environments.
- Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server (2016+), VMware (v7+), and Linux (Red Hat/ Ubuntu).
- Confident using tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, and administering services like Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- A track record of managing high-availability infrastructure in enterprise or hybrid environments.
- Experience of monitoring, incident response, and performance tuning across physical, virtual, and cloud-based systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and delivering services that meet or exceed SLAs.
- Ability to document processes clearly and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent) is preferred, with additional certifications in Linux, ITIL, or VMware considered an advantage.

Hybrid - This role offers a mix of home and office working. You will need to be within commuting distance of our Watford or Glasgow office, as you will be expected to attend in person once a week.
