Vice President, Platform and Operations
As a Lead Platform Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud solutions align with business objectives and industry best practices. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing our cloud environment for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on GCP.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to define cloud architecture and implement best practices.
- Automate cloud operations and infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Terragrunt.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency while maintaining performance and security standards.
- Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts for cloud-related issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on GCP or AWS.
- Strong Kubernetes experience
- Proven expertise in designing and managing cloud environments, including compute, storage, networking, and security components.
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python or Bash.
- In-depth understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
