Senior Change Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Change Manager to play a pivotal role in leading major service transformation initiatives across a large, complex UK university environment.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team focused on portfolio management, service design and change delivery, supporting large-scale programmes that include:

  • Implementation of new enterprise systems (e.g., ERP)
  • Major campus development and redevelopment
  • Digital transformation across professional and academic services
  • Organisation-wide operating model redesign

This is a senior role responsible for shaping and delivering change strategies, ensuring that people, processes, structures, and technology transition smoothly and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the change workstream within service design and operating model transformation projects across multiple business areas.
  • Define and implement the change management strategy, approach, and roadmap for major organisational change programmes.
  • Work closely with service leaders, programme teams, HR, and senior stakeholders to ensure changes are understood, adopted, and embedded.
  • Support prioritisation and sequencing of service areas undergoing operating model transformations.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate change impacts across the programme portfolio.
  • Deploy a range of change tools and methodologies to measure adoption, track progress, and report benefits realisation.
  • Coach leaders and managers to drive change within their local areas, providing expert guidance on communications, engagement, and readiness.
  • Support alignment between service design delivery and strategic organisational objectives.
  • Develop and implement clear communication strategies outlining the case for change and progress updates.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, cross-functional transformation environment.

About You

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification
  • Prosci® or equivalent change management certification

Essential Experience:

  • Leading large-scale service design transformations
  • Delivering people, process, technology, and structural change with a strong focus on behavioural and cultural change
  • Applying recognised change management methodologies and tools
  • Working in complex environments with highly matrixed stakeholder groups
  • Supporting service-based or shared services transformation
  • Knowledge of user experience and service design approaches
  • Collaborating effectively with HR on people-related change
  • Influencing and engaging senior stakeholders

Desirable Experience:

  • Working within a Higher Education institution or similar complex public/regulated environment
