Solutions Architect

We're looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead the modernisation of identity mastering at a major higher education institution.

This is a 6-month contract (IR35: In Scope), offering £550–£650/day

(Umbrella) with hybrid working (1–2 days onsite/week - London).

🔐 The Challenge

The institution currently uses Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and a custom on-premise solution to consolidate user identities across multiple systems. As part of a strategic move to cloud-based services and real-time APIs, we're redesigning this capability from the ground up.

🧠 Your Role

You'll lead the solution design, working closely with the Enterprise Architect and Identity & Access Platform Team to deliver a future-ready identity mastering platform. This includes option appraisal, procurement, solution architecture, and implementation.

💡 Key Skills

Deep expertise in identity mastering, authentication, and access management

Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies: EntraID, Azure AD B2C, Active Directory, MIM

Experience with role-based access control, compliance, and security

Proven ability to run design workshops and present to senior stakeholders

Background in procurement and enterprise architecture documentation

We're looking for someone dynamic, self-motivated, and able to influence across teams. You should be comfortable translating technical concepts for non-specialists and producing clear, formal documentation.
