Senior Data Engineer
Senior Data Engineer | Remote (UK) | Greenfield Build | Up to £70k + Bonus
We’re working with an established UK technology business that provides a critical service to organisations across both the public and private sectors. They're investing heavily in data and AI and are looking to hire their first Senior Data Engineer into a newly formed Data & AI function.
The business has built up a significant amount of operational and customer data over the years and is now at a really exciting point where it's looking to turn that data into better products, smarter decision-making and new capabilities across the organisation. This is a opportunity to join early, build the foundations, and have a real influence on the future direction of the data platform.
What you'll be doing:
- Building and owning end-to-end data pipelines
- Bringing together data from multiple systems into a single, trusted data model
- Designing scalable data architecture and warehousing solutions
- Establishing data quality, governance and engineering best practices
- Working closely with CTO/stakeholders to deliver insights and support future AI initiatives
What we're looking for:
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple data sources
- Strong Power BI experience
- Experience with cloud data platforms, ideally within a Microsoft environment
- Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks or similar
- Evidence of using AI to accelerate data engineering workflows and drive meaningful productivity gains.
- Bonus points for experience with Microsoft Fabric, Cosmos DB or microservices architectures
