Role: Senior Software Engineer
Salary: £80,000 plus £10,000 bonus
Remote working: 2 days in London office
I am working with a B2B Start Up who are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to step into a more senior leadership position in their company to bridge the gap between complex technical execution and commercial strategy.
The Opportunity
You will own the technical architecture and roadmap for a business with a massive digital footprint, over 100,000 daily subscribers and a rapidly expanding revenue engine. Your mission is to "fix and build", landing critical ongoing migrations while scaling their systems to support new product launches.
As a member of the leadership team, you will report directly to the CEO, ensuring their technology stack is a driver of their commercial success.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Software Engineer
- Technical Leadership: Own and maintain their core stack, including headless CMS (WordPress + DatoCMS), infrastructure (AWS/Heroku), and billing systems (Stripe/Zephr).
- Vendor Management: Act as the primary interface for their talented nearshore development team.
- Strategic Roadmapping: Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Commercial Integration: Partner with the Head of Research and Intelligence teams to deliver data features and optimize our subscription paywall funnel.
Who You Are
- The Translator: You have a proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
- The Operator: You have hands-on experience as a Senior Software Engineer with CMS ecosystems, subscription/paywall systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- The Leader: You have a track record of managing outsourced or nearshore teams and a preference for permanent, growth-oriented environments.
