IT & Business Systems Manager

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm with an unpaid 1-hour lunchbreak)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £60k per annum, dependent on skills and experience

The Role:

Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking for a dynamic IT & Business Systems Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in delivering and managing our forward-thinking IT strategy. This position is perfect for a proactive professional ready to take ownership of all IT initiatives, working closely with outsourced IT support partners and senior management. You will be instrumental in shaping both our internal and external IT platforms, driving innovation, and ensuring that our systems continue to support our business objectives.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of our outsourced IT support partner.
  • Own cyber strategy and risk management for the business alongside our IT support partner, ensuring all IT systems are robustly protected from both external and internal IT threats.
  • Work closely with management and internal teams to identify IT needs and recommend potential IT solutions.
  • Lead IT projects including system upgrades, process improvements and infrastructure developments.
  • Drive system improvement by strategic planning, continuous improvement and effective management practices.
  • Research, recommend and implement technology solutions that enhance business operations and our client-facing IT solution offering.
  • Work alongside our Design team to develop and deliver client digital retail solutions.
  • Keep up to date with software and technology developments, assessing their impact on the business systems and processes.
  • Maintain relationships with software and technology providers, including negotiating contracts and negotiating, implementing and monitoring services levels.
  • Day-to-day practical support for all IT users in the business.
  • Deliver IT training alongside our IT and software support partners.
  • Maintain the businesses data management responsibilities in line with GDPR and UK law.
  • Produce regular IT management update reports for the Board.
  • Maintain all IT licensing requirements across the business to ensure compliance.
  • Manage all IT procurement, both software and hardware, in line with company purchasing policy.
  • Resolve day to day IT issues in conjunction with the outsourced IT support partner.

Person specification:

Essential

  • Strong technical background across infrastructure, systems and security
  • Proven experience acting as a trusted advisor in IT strategy and system optimisation
  • Experience in working with hybrid, multi-site and multi-platform business models
  • Project-driven, pragmatic and delivery-focused
  • Experienced in delivery of client-facing solutions
  • A clear understanding of data security and secure systems
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Fully competent in the workings of MS365

Desirable

  • Held a similar role with a multisite medium-sized manufacturing business
  • Experience working with Sage, ERP systems, design software, AI, digital retail solutions
  • 6 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in working in retail POS industry.
  • Experience in client-facing projects
