The Company
We are delighted to be supporting a well-established, successful and highly regarded organisation operating within the UK healthcare services sector in the recruitment of an experienced Business Analyst.
With a strong reputation for customer service, innovation and quality, the organisation continues to invest in its people, processes and technology as part of an ongoing programme of growth and transformation.
You will play an important role in strengthening business intelligence, improving the quality of management information and ensuring that data is translated into meaningful, commercially relevant insights.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Business Analyst will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining high-quality business intelligence reporting, with a particular emphasis on Power BI, data integrity and effective visualisation.
This is not simply a reporting or dashboard development position. You'll be expected to understand the underlying data, investigate anomalies, question assumptions and present findings in a clear, engaging and persuasive manner.
Working closely with senior management, stakeholders, and customers across the organisation, you'll help improve the accessibility, reliability and commercial value of business-critical information.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards and reporting suites, providing clear and actionable business insights.
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities for operational and commercial improvement.
- Validate and reconcile information across multiple data sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability.
- Investigate discrepancies between reports and underlying source data, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate improvements.
- Review existing reporting capabilities, engaging with stakeholders to understand their requirements and identify opportunities to improve functionality and presentation.
- Produce visually compelling reports and presentations that communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the development and implementation of robust data governance policies and reporting controls.
- Translate business requirements into effective analytical solutions, managing delivery timelines and competing stakeholder priorities.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting and analytical requests, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Act as a trusted business partner, providing insight, constructive challenge and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Business Analyst who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in Business Analysis, Business Intelligence or a similar data-focused analytical position.
- Strong Power BI expertise, including the development of interactive dashboards, data models and management reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with complex datasets and multiple data sources.
- Excellent analytical and numerical ability, with a strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation and reporting integrity.
- The confidence to question data, challenge assumptions and investigate inconsistencies rather than simply accepting information at face value.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to interpret complex information and translate findings into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI.
- A background in finance, financial analysis or commercially focused management reporting.
- Experience improving business intelligence processes, reporting controls and data governance.
Based at the organisation's Wokingham office, with a requirement to attend four days per week and the flexibility to work from home one day per week. Occasional travel to a second group location in West Sussex will be required, typically two to three days per month. Travel expenses and overnight accommodation will be covered as appropriate.
