Systems Accountant

Butler Rose has been appointed on an exclusive basis to recruit a Systems Accountant on behalf of an award-winning business based in Bruton.

This is a key role bridging Finance and IT, ensuring our financial systems run efficiently, accurately, and in line with business needs.

You'll play a vital part in supporting, maintaining, and optimising the ERP system and associated tools, while driving continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and develop the ERP system and associated finance tools.
• Act as the link between Finance and IT for updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting.
• Manage configuration changes, system testing, and user training.
• Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and controls.
• Support system audits and compliance checks, ensuring data integrity.
• Work with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and IT to deliver solutions.
• Provide system support for month- and year-end processes.
• Deliver training and support to finance and wider business users.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in finance/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, Netsuite).
• Excellent understanding of financial processes (GL, AP, AR, budgeting, reporting).
• Advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills.
• Clear communicator with the ability to bridge finance and technical teams.
• Analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
