Founding Software Engineer - Real-Time AI Platform

Compensation: £100,000-£140,000 + early equity (1%-2%)

Location: Onsite London

We're helping an early-stage AI company hire founding software engineers to build a real-time voice and intelligence platform used by operational and service businesses. The company is tackling complex workflow automation challenges using cutting-edge language and speech technology.

This is a hands-on founding role: you'll shape the product, influence architecture and culture, and ship production systems that deliver real value from day one.

What You'll Do

• Build, test, and deploy end-to-end product features across the stack (Python, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure).
• Design scalable APIs and real-time systems that integrate with third-party tools and data sources.
• Work closely with customers to understand real problems and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate directly with the founders to define technical strategy and delivery processes.
• Raise engineering standards - reliability, monitoring, documentation, and product quality.

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on coding experience.
• Comfort moving between backend, infra, and light frontend work.
• Experience in Python or TypeScript (both is ideal, but flexibility matters most).
• Startup or high-growth environment experience - bias for ownership and speed.
• Practical exposure to AI, voice, or real-time systems (personal or professional projects).
• A product mindset - you care about usability and the "why" behind what you build.

Nice to Have

• Experience working directly with customers or end-users.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems, microservices, or modern cloud environments.
