Senior Microsoft Azure Technical Engineer

Mission
This role exists to provide expert 3rd line support across Azure environments, acting as a trusted escalation point for complex issues and ensuring high levels of service for Bytes customers.
You’ll take ownership of technically challenging incidents, work closely with internal teams and Microsoft where needed, and continuously improve how we support, document and deliver Azure services. As part of a growing Microsoft support function, you’ll help drive technical excellence and customer confidence.
What you will deliver in the 12 months FTC role
- Take ownership of complex Azure incidents and service requests through to resolution
- Act as a 3rd line escalation point for high‐priority and VIP customer environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues across Azure infrastructure, networking and services
- Manage and prioritise multiple open tickets, working closely with third parties where required
- Communicate clearly with customers throughout the lifecycle of issues to ensure transparency and confidence
- Collaborate with internal teams and Microsoft support to resolve escalations effectively
- Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date documentation, including configurations and resolution guides
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives
- Stay up to date with Azure developments, best practices and new features
Essentials
- Strong experience in Microsoft Azure support within a technical or cloud environment (typically 6+ years)
- Deep understanding of Azure services including compute, networking, storage and identity
- Experience troubleshooting complex Azure and hybrid networking issues
- Knowledge of Azure security features including RBAC, Key Vault, policies and identity services
- Ability to support and advise customers on Azure solutions and best practices
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage customers and stakeholders
- Experience working in a structured support environment, managing escalations and SLAs
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and manage multiple priorities effectively
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem prevention
