JOB TITLE – 2nd Line Support Engineer

LOCATION – Cheltenham

SALARY – Up to £35,000

THE BUSINESS: C4S Search are pleased to be working with UK-based medical charity who specialise in healthcare research.

ABOUT THE 2nd LINE SUPPORT ENGINEER POSITION:

• Technical Support & Issue Resolution – Work with internal IT teams and external providers to resolve complex issues and maintain IT infrastructure.
• System & Equipment Management – Assist in rolling out new IT systems, ensuring all deployed equipment is documented, labelled, and secured.
• Network Monitoring & Maintenance – Monitor network performance, proactively address potential issues, and support disaster recovery planning.
• Compliance & Data Protection – Ensure adherence to GDPR and data protection principles in handling and storing patient data.
• Site & Connectivity Support – Support the setup of new mobile sites and assist with on-site connectivity when required.
• Documentation & Training – Maintain IT documentation, update user manuals, and provide training for IT teams and end users.
• Capacity & Performance Management – Monitor system capacities, ensuring proactive measures are taken to maintain performance.
• General IT Duties – Undertake additional IT-related tasks as required.

ABOUT YOU

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of operating systems, networks, and common business applications.
• Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote support tools.
• Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users effectively.
• Prior experience in an IT support or service desk role.
