JOB TITLE: Network Engineer

LOCATION: Hayes, West London

SALARY:£40,000 Per Annum

WAY OF WORKING: Full Time | Office-based | Permanent

THE BUSINESS:

Looking for a challenging new opportunity in the IT sector? A leading provider of infrastructure and managed services is currently seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team.

You will be based onsite at a customer data centre in Hayes, West London. The role involves providing effective third-line firewall and network support, troubleshooting, and managing the firewalls and networks supporting data centre operations. You will also assist with deploying new equipment as part of upgrade programmes or project work for new buildings and campuses.

NETWORK ENGINEER:

• Resolve network and firewall queries escalated from the service desk, such as hardware faults, bandwidth monitoring, and general troubleshooting.
• Assist with onsite project-based installation work and deployment of new equipment and systems.
• Manage cases via the ticketing system (SysAid).
• Monitor systems using network monitoring platforms (PRTG/Auvik).
• Support customers with case resolution and manage escalations.
• Meet set KPIs for performance and case management.
• Participate in an on-call rota (currently 1 in 4 weeks) to support a 24x7x365 1st/2nd line service desk.
• Occasionally work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

YOUR KEY SKILLS:

• Proven network support experience in a similar role.
• CiscoCCNA or equivalent experience (required).
• Understanding and experience in managing/supporting firewalls and switching.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with first-class grammar.
• Organised, with strong prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work full-time on-site across multiple locations (main site in Hayes).
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (required).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• You must be authorised to work in the UK.
• Successful candidates must pass a BPSS background check. SC clearance may be required upon completion of probation.
• The interview process includes a two-stage selection: an initial remote interview, followed by a technical assessment at the main operating location.
