The Role: Digital & IT Project Manager
The D&IT Project Manager will work with a variety of teams and stakeholders to manage, coordinate and deliver projects focused on artificial intelligence, infrastructure and applications for the Digital & IT (D&IT) team.
The post holder will work across technical, functional, architectural and delivery teams to manage approved workstreams. This includes helping to define the delivery approach and ensuring alignment with established technical architecture frameworks. The Project Manager will coordinate the approval of solution design and delivery activities, managing outcomes against agreed time, cost and quality objectives. Throughout the project life cycle, the post holder will create, maintain and manage key project artefacts, including the project plan, RAID log, financial trackers and other documentation required by the HPC RESA.
The Project Manager will use broad technical and functional knowledge to manage delivery against a solution defined and agreed by the Technical Assurance team. They will document and monitor the project using established project management practices and remain engaged throughout development and implementation to manage requirements. They will also work with delivery teams to support solution validation and approval and prepare the business for implementation.
Contextual Information
The Digital & IT team enables the construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of Clients site by digitising and integrating critical Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning systems. Operating within a heavily regulated environment, the team delivers solutions to ensure operational teams are equipped with reliable digital tools.
The Project Manager will have suitable practical experience of project managing technical and functional change at workstream level from inception to implementation on projects. They will be working with a variety of Client employees, consultants and contractors from different organisations. The postholder will develop and nurture relationships with business counterparts to ensure that they drive delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable planning and project scheduling experience across complex IT programmes.
- Experience coordinating and combining multiple workstreams to deliver integrated business and technology change.
- Knowledge of successful project delivery and organisational change within complex, evolving environments.
- Experience delivering cyber security, infrastructure, digital transformation or application-related projects.
- Understanding of business continuity processes and operational resilience.
- Experience of process mapping, process improvement and business change initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong decision-making ability and experience obtaining stakeholder agreement.
- Experience managing projects within large-scale IT change portfolios.
- Experience managing budgets, resources and financial reporting.
- Skilled in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- High-level understanding of enterprise Digital & IT architectures including cloud platforms, infrastructure, integration, data and end-user computing.
- Understanding of technology assurance, governance processes, architectural compliance and design approval gates.
