Apprentice Calibration and Service Engineer
We require a motivated individual to join our dynamic and expanding team. Work as part of a market leading calibration laboratory to help deliver the highest quality of calibration and service in a timely manner to ensure top-level customer satisfaction. We calibrate precision equipment for the measurement of sound, vibration and air quality.
Role
The successful apprentice will be provided training on handling of all sensitive measurement equipment and will be offered support & repair functions for equipment and the periodic calibration required by our customers.
Day to day respnsibilities:
- Undertake the calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with the Company’s calibration procedures and, where appropriate, the Company’s UKAS accredited procedures.
- Measurements are made in specially designed climate controlled test room using the latest calibration instrumentation.
- Undertake the repair and servicing of measurement equipment.
- Hardware and Software support for customers via email support line
- Carry out maintenance of laboratory calibration records for our reference test equipment
- Assist in the building and testing of special testing products
Training
- The Apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard
- Qualifications include Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence), and Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) - The Apprentice will be working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Pathway
- College attendance will be at Colchester Institute Campus and online
As a fully qualified calibration engineer you would earn a competitive salary with opportunities to progress within our growing organisation.
Further training and qualifications would be available after the completion of apprenticeship.
The valuable skills learnt would be easily transferred to other industries and applications.
