Rate: £800 per day inside IR35

Contract: 12 months

Active SC security clearance is required

We're looking for an experienced CMDB Application Developer & Reporting Specialist to join a major technology programme in Stevenage, taking ownership of the development of a centralised CMDB solution and the applications, automation, dashboards and reporting that sit around it.

This is not simply a CMDB administration role. You'll be designing and developing applications, integrating data sources, automating processes and turning complex configuration data into meaningful dashboards, KPIs and actionable insight for both operational teams and senior stakeholders.

The technology landscape could include Google AppSheet, Apps Script, BigQuery and Looker Studio, alongside platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, ServiceNow or custom web development frameworks.

Responsibilities:

Application Development

  • Design and develop a CMDB management application from the ground up
  • Build intuitive interfaces for Configuration Item (CI) management
  • Develop CI lifecycle workflows, validation and data integrity controls
  • Integrate multiple data sources using APIs and connectors
  • Automate data collection, synchronisation and maintenance

CMDB & Configuration Management

  • Define and maintain robust CMDB data models
  • Improve data accuracy, completeness and consistency
  • Develop CI relationship and service mapping capabilities
  • Support asset, infrastructure, application and service inventories
  • Establish governance, audit and data-quality controls

Reporting, Analytics & Dashboards

  • Build operational and executive-level dashboards
  • Develop KPI, SLA and CMDB health reporting
  • Create automated reporting and scheduled management information
  • Deliver trend analysis and performance insight
  • Develop real-time monitoring and exception reporting

You'll also build automated alerts, notifications, exception workflows and compliance controls to continuously monitor CMDB health.

Expereince required

Essential:

  • 3+ years' application development experience
  • Strong SQL and database design experience
  • REST API integration
  • Data modelling
  • Reporting and dashboard development
  • KPI design and analytics
  • Strong understanding of CMDB / ITSM concepts
  • Configuration Management and Asset Management knowledge
  • Ability to work autonomously and translate business requirements into technical solutions
