Overview

We're looking for a DV Cleared DevSecOps Platform Architect & Engineer to join a high-profile, secure military IT programme, delivering highly resilient, automated, and secure data platforms.

This role sits at the intersection of DevSecOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and secure data systems, supporting advanced research and large-scale data analysis in a mission-critical environment. If you enjoy building things that have to work first time, in places where failure is not an option, you'll feel right at home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure DevSecOps platforms supporting sensitive data workloads

  • Architect and deliver automated CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for rapid, secure deployments

  • Develop and manage secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure

  • Implement security-first engineering practices across the full SDLC

  • Build and optimise data pipelines for large-scale data processing and analytics

  • Design and operate containerised platforms using Kubernetes and modern orchestration tooling

  • Embed security controls, monitoring, and compliance across all environments

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and operational teams

Essential Skills & Experience

  • ActiveHLC

  • Strong experience in DevSecOps and Platform Engineering

  • Deep hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps tooling

  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP - secure environments preferred)

  • Experience designing secure, scalable infrastructure-as-code solutions

  • Strong knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)

  • Proven experience building data pipelines and supporting large-scale data processing platforms

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, zero-trust, and secure system design

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in defence, military, or highly regulated secure environments

  • Knowledge of air-gapped or restricted network architectures

  • Exposure to big data platforms, analytics tooling, or AI/ML pipelines

  • Background in site reliability engineering (SRE) or reliability-focused platform design

Why This Role?

  • Work on cutting-edge secure military systems

  • High-impact engineering - your work directly supports critical national capabilities

  • Proper engineering challenges, not just "keeping the lights on"

  • Long-term programme stability and excellent contract longevity
